Kelleigh & Kelleigh's Cause
At age 4, Kelleigh Gustafson was diagnosed with massive arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) affecting the right side of her head, neck and chest. This is a life-threatening condition and, in Kelleigh’s case, it is inoperable. Simply put, it is a birth defect that causes abnormal blood vessel growth, which affects her brain, airway, gastrointestinal tract and heart. At this point, there is no cure.
Kelleigh's dream is to find a cure for all of the people afflicted with arteriovenous malformations.
Kelleigh's Cause is a fund set up through Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to support research to develop a new drug therapy. Learn more by watching Kelleigh's Story, a video about Kelleigh's Cause produced by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
