Hey Chocolate Challenge friends!
We’ve spent the last few weeks talking with officials, looking at medical models, and discussing what the next steps for the Chocolate Challenge will be and we kept coming back to the same points.
This charity race started as a way to raise funds for AVM and rare disease research and education while creating a community. The population that this charity race is trying to aid is often immunocompromised and are the ones who are at a greater risk if they contract COVID-19. We feel it is not safe for us to continue with an in person race knowing that those we are supporting may not be able to attend and we don’t want to put the community as a whole at risk.
So we’ve officially decided we are going VIRTUAL!
This means we will now have the option between a virtual 5k or 10k.
For those who have already registered your registration will automatically be transferred to a virtual registration! Of course we understand that your situation may have changed since signing up for this race we will provide you with the two options: either to have your registration fee be changed to a donation to Kelleigh’s Cause or we can provide you with a refund.
No one is more disappointed that we have to move to a virtual platform than I am but we look forward to seeing everyone and being bigger and consuming more chocolate in 2021!
